Sofa to Saddle - Series of Rides for Beginners

This is the first in a series of rides over a few weeks, for those just starting or returning to riding. Over the seven rides which will get slightly longer each week helping to build distance, stamina and road awareness for new riders.
These are easy rides, starting with a ride of approximately 5 miles along quieter country roads. We will ride at the pace that is best suited to everyone in the group. There will be a few gentle inclines and as leaders we will support all riders to ensure that no one is left behind, so that all the group can have an enjoyable ride. This is a circular route returning to our starting point at the end of the ride. We will stop at the end and visit the local community cafe for refreshments. Please remember to bring,
Two spare innertubes for your bike, even if you do not know how to change them, someone in the group will, as well as the appropriate tools (tyre levers and a spanner for your wheels if you do not have quick release.)
A water bottle with a drink in, riding can be very thirsty work.
Cycle helmet, for your own safety.
Appropriate clothing for the weather
As we will be riding on the road please consider adding lights to your bike and wearing high vis clothing to assist other road users to see you.

Now for the Covid bit…..
Although Covid restrictions have been lifted we are asking all riders to be respectful to other riders. Please do not attend if you have Covid symptoms or have been in contact with other people that have Covid.
