The Lifeboat Station on Meols Parade, Hoylake, Wirral

Hi, welcome to this ride from Cliona & Cat, two friendly and welcoming local Wirral Breeze Champions. This Breeze Ride is one of a series that we've developed to enable women to train together for the Wirral Bikeathon in June. We started with easier, shorter rides in January have been building up the 28-mile distance ready for June, it's never too late to join us! We aim to ride our circular routes at an average speed of 10-12 mph across the whole route. We're always a bit slower on the ups and try to balance that out by going a bit quicker on the flats and downs. Not 'club level' fast or 'leisure' pace either but something in-between, more like a fitness pace. Think rosy cheeks, breathing a bit quicker but still lots of air for chatting and you get the picture! This Breeze ride starts from the The Lifeboat Station on Meols Parade, Hoylake, Wirral CH47 3AL. Meet at 9:00am for our bike checks and introductions. Setting off at 9:15am on a nice undulating 21-mile loop with a few short hills from Hoylake and returning to The Lifeboat Station at approximately 1pm. Be aware that it still gets nippy out there on the bikes at this time of year, so do layer up appropriately. Since it may be low light/dark for our ride, front and back lights and Hi-Vis attire are recommended. Please bring a spare inner tube in case of puncture (don’t worry if you are unable to change a tube, we’ll help you!). If you have not been out on your bike in a while, please treat it to a basic service at your local bike shop to ensure that everything works as it should and that you will be safe on your ride. Have your normal breakfast and bring some water, a llittle snack (small banana is perfect), any medication that you also may need, a bike lock and some money for our coffee stop. This #Sofa2Sportive series of rides form some of the rides undertaken as a group by the 'Hoylake Breeze Riders' group. Click on our group page, read about and join us to tap into a network of local like-minded women cyclists. See you soon. Any questions, just email [email protected]
