The Lifeboat Station on Meols Parade, Hoylake, Wirral

Hi, welcome to this ride from Cat & Cliona, two friendly Wirral Breeze Champions. We're not 'club level' fast but more like a 'decent fitness pace'. We try to push out the speed on the flats and downs (15-22mph) and ride the steep uphills at 8mph+ so that our average speed for the whole route is around 12mph giving a good workout across the distance. Drop or flat bar road bikes and hybrid bikes with road tyres are most suitable for these rides. This Breeze ride starts from the The Lifeboat Station on Meols Parade, Hoylake, Wirral CH47 3AL. Meet at 9:00am for our bike checks and introductions. Setting off at 9:15am on a nice undulating 28-mile loop with some hills from Hoylake and returning to The Lifeboat Station at approximately 1:45pm. Be aware that this ride is challenging by Breeze standards. We ride at speed as a close group in pairs for safety and visibility. If this doesn't sound like your kind of cycling, please do check out other Breeze rides on the Wirral for other more relaxed style/pace rides. Flashing front and back lights and brightly coloured clothing are recommended. Please bring a spare inner tube in case of puncture (don’t worry, we’ll help you! If needed). If you have not been out on your bike in a while, please treat it to a basic service at your local bike shop to ensure that everything works as it should and that you will be safe on your ride. Please bring some water, a little snack (small banana is perfect), any medication that you may need, and some money for our coffee stop. This #Sofa2Sportive series of rides form some of the rides undertaken as a group by the 'Hoylake Breeze Riders' group. Click on our group page, read about and join us to tap into a network of local like-minded women cyclists. See you soon. Any questions, just email [email protected].
