Solway coast festival of cycling Grune easy ride

An easygoing and scenic ride from Silloth green out to Grune and back. We will ride along the promenade taking in the Silloth coastline towards Skinburness. We will then join the quiet road into Skinburness to find an un-named gated road (part of the Cumbria Coastal Way) leading to Grune and the estuary at Skinburness marsh. This is a rough track where smooth road bike tyres would not be suitable but any general purpose hybrid, gravel, cross or mountain bike type tyres will be fine.
We will make time for stops along the way to take in the beautiful coastal and marsh scenery and birdlife, bring binoculars if you like. If we have time we can explore by foot a wartime bunker within a short walk of our stopping place at Grune.
Please bring your own drinks and any snacks needed for stops.

We will return via the same route in reverse.
