NOTE. You must register on Eventbrite so we can limit numbers, link:
https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/cycle-ride-to-sitc-sculpture-in-the-city-tickets-394706777597This ride is an exploration of the outdoor art exhibition in the City of London - Sculpture in the City (
https://www.sculptureinthecity.org.uk/), starting and finishing at Cutty Sark, next to the Foot Tunnel. Start time 10am. Will we like the sculptures or will we just shrug our shoulders? Art enthusiasts may want to download the free Bloomberg Connect guide to the SITC exhibits (
https://www.bloombergconnects.org/features/). We can guess which sculpture merits the description “its horizontal configuration opposes veneration and pomposity through its prosaic absurdity”. There will be a competition to come up with your own description of one of the sculptures which sounds most as if it were part of the official guide - the winner will get a free COFFEE & CAKE! This ride will be lead by Eva, and including a coffee break is likely to take ca 3 hours.
This ride is organised by Southwark Cyclists, and is part of a regular programme of Saturday rides, more information at
https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/healthy-rides/. Southwark Cyclists are part of the London Cycling Campaign. This ride is organised by volunteers. If you have any feedback, good or bad, please get in touch with
[email protected]. For details of LCC’s Safeguarding and other policies please see lcc.org.uk.
Note you must register on Eventbrite at < https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/cycle-ride-to-sitc-sculpture-in-the-city-tickets-394706777597 >. This is to allow us to limit numbers as we post information to several locations. If you do register here you may get a confirmation. I am afraid this does not over-ride the Eventbrite registration. If Eventbrite says the ride is full, then that is correct. You can join the Wait List on Eventbrite and may get lucky. Remember we ride every week and if you want early notification then join our Google Group,
