Starting from Lyndhurst we’ll head along Hatchet Lane, before heading over to Ipley Cross. We will turn left on Beaulieu Road, heading up Arters Lawn and Deerleap Lane to Ashurst. From Ashurst we will head down Woodlands Road, for our café stop, before cycling through Bartley and on to Minstead where we may see some donkeys and ponies. We will then head towards Emery Down and swing across to Pikeshill which will take us back into Lyndhurst.

This is a nice route through the New Forest with some lovely views. Look out for the fairy door as we head along Beechwood Road!

Spring is around the corner and it’s time to stretch our cycling legs after winter. The Spring Wednesday ride is a longer version of my previous Winter Wednesday series but a little bit longer so we can enjoy the (hopefully!) nice weather and explore even more Forest roads.

We will be mostly riding on quiet forest roads.

There will be a café stop about half way through the ride.

The weather can be unpredictable at this time of year. Check out the weather forecast and dress appropriately. Plenty of layers that you can remove if it gets hot is a good idea. Don’t forget some money for the cake stop. A lock is recommended for the stop. All riders are expected to wear helmets.

If you are a newer rider and are looking to increase your distance, then please come along. We will always go at the pace of the slowest rider and we will never leave anyone behind.
