Meet outside in carpark immediately on the LEFT as you enter carpark.

Toilet and Refreshments available at both Wacky Warehouse and RSPB St. Aidens (limited selection of sandwiches, crisps, cakes)

PLEASE ARRIVE 15mins PRIOR TO START TIME TO ENABLE BIKE CHECK & REGISTER TO BE TAKEN.

CYCLE HELMETS ARE A MUST
You will not be permitted to take part in the ride without a correctly fitting bike helmet and bike lights.

PLease ensure you read all the information.

Canal Towpath and Cycle Path
We set off through the car park onto the canal side, 200 yards we use the swing bridge to cross the canal turning left to follow the canal towards Castleford.
Follow canal towpath for 3 miles to Fairies Hill Moorings.
Go round the back of Tarmac Plant onto NEW Wakefield Castleford cycle way.
Take first LEFT (Golf course on right) following cycleway for 1.4 miles to Methley Bridge.

Road Section
Leave canal Turning LEFT onto Leeds Barnsdale Road for .4 mile Turning RIGHT onto Green Lane.
Green Lane turns into Boat Lane then Lower Mickletown/Main Street. Follow for 2 miles.
At mini roundabout (painted on floor) Turn RIGHT onto Station Road, 100yds on RIGHT take Leeds Country Way track RIGHT following for .3 mile.

Track
At the fork veer LEFT over Carolines Bridge turning RIGHT at the other side.
100yds Turn LEFT into RSPB St. Aidens following track to the RIGHT which leads all the way to a lovely Brew!

Return by retracing route back to Station Road and the mini roundabout.

Road
Take 2nd exit to stay on Station Road.
At T junction Turn RIGHT onto Church Lane. Follow for .4 mile.
At T junction with Leeds Road Turn LEFT then Immediately RIGHT onto Park Lane.
Follow Park Lane for 1 miles and at junction Turn LEFT onto Watergate.
After 200yds Turn RIGHT on to

Track
cycle/walking track following this disused railway for 2 miles.

Road
At T junction Turn RIGHT up Bottomboat Road, Turn LEFT onto Aberford Road.
Follow for 1 mile

Track
Turn LEFT onto cycle track by railings opposite Lime Pit Lane.
Follow for .5 mile and your BACK!

There is an option to do another 3 miles if anyone would like to once we have got back and seen how we all feel.

Please ensure you are properly prepared for your ride BEFORE you set off
If your bike is not in full working order you will not be permitted to join the ride.
Please Ensure:
Fully working bike with fully working gears and brakes
Tyres pumped up to the correct pressure (this info is printed on your tyres)
Spare inner tube and equipment with which to change remove tyre.
Puncture patches, tyre leavers, pump
Water/energy drink

Refreshments: It is advisable to bring
Water/ energy drink
Snacks/energy bars

Winter Cycling Clothing: you may want to consider
Gloves,
Thin hat or buff to go underneath your helmet
Over shoes
Extra/spare layer of clothing

WINTER MONTHS CYCLING - During the winter months depending on weather conditions we may unfortunately need to cancel a ride due to safety reasons. Please ensure you check your email notifications from Let's Ride and/or check on Let's Ride website before you leave for the ride to confirm the ride is still taking place.
