Starting point

South Yorkshire
S6 6BX

A steady ride in North Sheffield with beautiful views across both the Rivelin and Loxley Valleys and beyond.

This ride is open to anyone aged 16+ and is also the 3rd ride in the 'Ride for Eric 2018' series where we aim to support those who are training to take part in the 25km sportive on the 20th May.

We will start at Stannington Park Cafe / Library car park and then head out through Stannington village down and then up the steady hills towards 'Our Cow Molly' where we will turn off onto the quieter lanes towards Loadbrook. We will then ride along Rod Side to check out the beautiful views of the Rivelin valley below before heading back towards Stannington.

There are a few longer steady hills on this route as well as some long downhill stretches but they are mostly on quiet country lanes. Perfect practice for climbing and descending for the sportive.

We will finish back at Stannington Park where we can visit the cafe for tea / coffee / cakes etc.

To sign up to the Ride for Eric Sportive please follow this link: https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/174909/Ride-for-Eric-2018

NB: This route does include some longer sections of downhill. Please make sure your breaks are in full working order! The ride is open to anyone aged 16+ as well as those preparing for the Ride for Eric Sportive but spaces must be booked through this website to guarantee a place. All riders must wear a helmet and follow the safety advice and guidance of our Guided Ride Leaders whilst out on the roads.
