We'll set off from McDonald's at Marsh Mills, and ride eastbound along Plymouth Road. Eventually, we'll ride past Chaplin's, then leave Plymouth via the new road built by Wolf Minerals. From here is a gentle uphill until we pass the Wolf Minerals site. A short descent follows, but what goes down must also go back up, and soon enough we'll tackle the climb past Imery's china clay operation. That climb will certainly get the blood flowing!
We'll regroup at regular intervals, and certainly will stop at the top of the climb, to let people catch their breath.
From there, the road has gentle undulations, through Wotter, until we turn right towards Cadover bridge, where again we have a gentle climb ahead. A nice descent to the bridge follows, with a short climb immediately after. Undulating, and (gasp!) even flat roads follow for a while, before hitting the adrenaline-boosting fast descent into the Meavy valley. Finally, there's a bit of a climb back up and into Yelverton, where we'll stop at the Rock Inn - bring money for a drink, and perhaps a cake.
After our stop, we'll pretty much have a downhill run all the way back to Plymouth, via the Plym Valley.
PLEASE NOTE: This ride will aim for an average speed of 11 mph - please ensure you can ride the distance over the terrain we'll have at this speed?
