Sunday Lumpy Loop in the Lanes

A lumpy loop from north Cardiff, up Rhiwbina hill and through Caerphilly, out to Rudry, Draethen and Bassaleg, down to Tredegar House for a coffee stop (20 miles in). A flat section back to Marshfield then a climb back up into the lanes north of the A48 and back down to Pontprennau.

Some busier roads at the start to get across to Rhiwbina, then mostly country lanes and cycle paths.

Meeting at the roundabout next to Pontprennau Medical Centre / Pontprennau Community Church Centre / Pontprennau Primary School, where there is limited parking in the nearby residential areas.

Remember to bring a drink and a snack in case you feel hungry along the way - we will be stopping 2/3rds of the way through the ride at the cafe in Tredegar House grounds.

Please check your bike over in advance, making sure tyres are inflated and brakes are working, bring a spare inner tube if you have one, and always wear a helmet.
