During fresher’s the Swansea University Ride Leader group will be guiding rides between the two Swansea University campus – The Bay and Singleton, to encourage and support those students and staff that would like to see the route, see where the other Santander bike hubs are along the way and enjoy a nice leisurely ride between the two campus which will at times take you along the lovely sea front of Swansea Bay.

The rides will be departing around 12:00 mid day.

One ride will be leaving each campus with the intention to either cycle all the way to the other campus or stop at the mid-way point.

BAY CAMPUS start and end point– Outside the Great Hall
SINGLETON CAMPUS start and end point – Corner of Fulton House, by the Santander bike hub
Mid way meeting point – Waterfront Museum by Santander hub.

The guided rides will be meeting at this half way point and anyone who would like to continue onto the other campus can continue to do so with a ride leader and for those who would like to return to the campus they set off from, ride leaders will be available to take you back. Alternatively if you would like to take your time at the mid way point this is absolutely fine and you can explore the Waterfront museum, café and surrounding area, however the ride leaders will be continuing straight on to the campus so will not be waiting.

There are Santander Bikes at each campus for those who would like to join but do not have their own bike.

The only requirements for joining these rides is that if you are using your own bike, please ensure it is roadworthy and in particular that both front and rear brakes function effectively, you must also wear a cycle helmet.
However if you wish to use a Santander bike, these are maintained as part of the scheme, but the university would still like to suggest that you wear a helmet.

Prior to any ride departing the ride leaders will go through some basic safety information and instructions regarding the ride.

If you are interested in joining please register on the ride.

This is a Guided ride with some of the members of the Swansea University trained Ride Leaders, open to any Swansea University Students or Staff.

It will be following the National Cycling route no 4.

There is a mid way stop by the Waterfront Museum Santander Bike Hub.

If you are using your own bike, please ensure it is roadworthy and in particular that both front and rear brakes function effectively, you must also wear a cycle helmet. However if you wish to use a Santander bike, these are maintained as part of the scheme, but the university would still like to suggest that you wear a helmet.

We never leave anyone behind
