Syon or Osterley to the Minet Cycle Circuit, Hayes

To mark International Women’s Day and the campaign theme #BalanceforBetter, we will be riding to Hayes for a lap or two on the purpose-built outdoor cycle circuit at Minet Country Park. You don’t need your own bike because this can be provided if you join at Osterley by the National Trust in conjunction with British Cycling and sponsors HSBC UK.

When we arrive at Hayes, we will join the Minet Ladies Cycling Club in the Clubhouse for refreshments. The Club, which is suitable for complete novices through to advanced cyclists, meets each Friday from 12.00-4.00pm. Sessions start with refreshments following which there is an optional coached activity as well as the chance to lap the mile-long circuit. Our ride will start from Syon (a 17 mile return trip), but we will pause briefly at Osterley (an 11 mile return trip) to meet up with anyone joining there. Once you have signed up for this ride, Ride Leader Charmian will message you to ask whether you will be joining at Syon or Osterley and whether, if Osterley, you will want to borrow a bike.

If you are joining the ride with your own bike, please check beforehand that the brakes work, the wheels spin freely and the tyres are pumped up. No special clothing is required but you should dress for the weather, remembering gloves and avoiding loose garments that could catch in your chain. A helmet is recommended. Please also bring a modest amount of cash, some water and a snack.

Don’t worry if you have never joined a Breeze ride before, we will be easy to spot at both Syon and Osterley and look forward to meeting you.
