How do I sign up?
This is easy, simply turn up at the start line for the stated time and find the rabble with bikes!? We are friendly so please don't be shy. Pop over and say hi and we can get you on the ride easily enough. Some people find it easier to contact us on Facebook or by text, especially if they get lost or held up, so please see the links on the Facebook page. Heres the number of the ride leader should you need it - 07445370210

What will we see?
West Park, Erewash Canal, Old Nottingham Canal, Bramcote Park, Hemlock Stone, Toton Sidings nature reserve.

Where are we heading?
Starting at the main entrance to the Leisure centre next to the bike racks. Most of the ride is nature trail and is all flat so easy for all, there are some cyclists who use road bikes and racers around this route but you are at risk of getting a puncture especially riding in Spring or Autumn when the thorns drop. Part of the route is beside the canal which can get breezy certain times of the year but shouldn't pose a problem. There are a few small hills at Ilkeston and Bramcote but nothing to severe so please be aware of this when signing up for the event.

Strenuous?
The journey is not too strenuous and does cover some trails so wider wheels are better, recumbent's should be fine on the trails but a bit of leg work may be needed on the hills etc, and punctures will be common if racer wheels are attached to bikes so may slow down the ride if your on track/road wheels.

Rules of the ride.
A helmet MUST be worn, no helmet no ride. We travel with no Mech or Medic so self sufficiency is essential, bring waterproofs and whatever inner tubes and puncture kits, equipment etc you may need. We tend to travel with tyre levers and a pump, but just in case.

Refreshments.
Bramcote Park has a coffee van and usually an Ice Cream Van. Other than that pack sandwiches.

How do I find the start line?
We will assemble at the main doors in front of the centre where there is parking and bike sheds.
Beeston and Attenborough both have train stations. Also the city centre has multiple parking opportunities for those who wish to add a few extra miles. Nottingham City also has its own station if you wish to add a few miles then maybe follow the River Trent or the Big Track. Please use a Garmin, route app, map etc to ensure you arrive at the starting line on time. The ride will start approx. 15 minutes from the start time.

Who do I contact if I am late, lost or just shy?
Give Kris a call or text upon arriving at the event start line. If you are contacting in advance then a text may be better as he sometimes rides to the event so may not have access to his phone while riding. Also any riders hanging around near the start line will be approached by Kris to be sure they are waiting for the event.

A Jaunt through some wonderful areas of the Erewash Trail South Section.

Mainly nature trails with a quick roadside cycle path for approx 1 mile, canal paths and a housing estate road. A few small hills hardly worth noting and one short but sharp hill at Bramcote. Feel free to get off and push, I will ;)

Stop off point for coffee van and public toilets will be Bramcote Park near the Hemlock Stone and downhill MTB trail.

Helmets MUST be worn, weather appropriate clothing also. Bring drinks and snacks, puncture kits etc. Pennies for the cranfleet stop.

We especially welcome newbies!
