Half Moon Cafe inside Roberts Park

A great, 21 mile hilly route, full of interest and set in the stunning Bronte Country to the north of Bradford. The ride begins outside All Terrain Cycles, and heads down through the scenic Roberts Park, travelling east as far as Esholt, the famous location for ITV drama Emmerdale Farm, before heading north to Guiseley. From Guiseley the route heads west on quiet roads flanking the famous Ilkley Moor, passing two reservoirs, before returning to Baildon via Eldwick. There are numerous stopping points and sights of interest on the way, most notably Shipley Glen with its 19th century cable tramway and Bracken Hall countryside centre near Baildon.
This is a hillier route, but you won't be left behind. Well not for long, as I may be on my electric bike, but that doesn't mean I shall go tearing ahead, it just allows me to go a bit higher and further than of late. It’s a good idea to bring some water, a snack to keep you going and money for if we stop at a cafe. Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.  We really welcome newcomers to our rides; we will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind. All you need is a roadworthy bike, sensible clothing and a bit of enthusiasm. It helps to have a spare inner tube of the correct size - just in case. My contact number on the day is 07940 975 971 I look forward to you joining us.
