(0) ReviewsThe Hidden Vineyard is a wonderful place to retreat too, but little known about and difficult to find, nestled away in the hills... We will take you on a challenging category ride there with just under 500m of climbing in total, mainly along quiet, scenic country lanes. The route is undulating, with one big climb up to Potten End en route to Frithsden Vineyard, and the Felden Lane 10% average gradient climbing challenge to burn off your burger and wine &/or coffee and cake on the way back! Please bring: - Electrolyte drinks & your favorite cycle snacks for the ride, e.g. flapjack, banana, bars or gels - Money / your debit card if you want to indulge in gastronomic goodies at the vineyard, and just in case you need to catch a cab home - there are no trains running this Sunday between Hemel and Watford - Clothing appropriate for the conditions on the day; you may need a jacket if sitting outside at the vineyard... Please bring two spare inner tubes in case of a puncture - as changing an inner tube is faster than getting out the rubber glue. The Ride Leaders can help if anyone in the group has a puncture on the day. Watford Cycle Hub sell inner tubes from £4 new, or recycled ones for 50p patched, £1 with no patches, should you need to purchase one. Please check your bike is in good working order before the ride - especially that your brakes are working & your tyres are pumped. You can also come along early before the ride to use the Hub's track pump, or we can help you get your tyres to the correct pressure pre-ride. :) The Hidden Vineyard is a wonderful place to retreat too, but little known about and difficult to find, nestled away in the hills
