As we often do, we will be going in an anti-clockwise loop to Ashbury via Bourton and Bishopstone, then we zig-zag through Compton,Knighton, Woolstone, Uffington and Kinston Lisle and Fernham before returning to Shrivenham. There are several places where a short cut can be taken to lop off a mile or two

This a 25 mile route taking in lots of the local hamlets and villages and a few little hills to help build up a strong appetite.

We will in the main be on quiet country roads

Phil, Kate and all the lovely staff at The Crown (thecrownshrivenham.co.uk) will be waiting ready to serve us Woodfired Pizzas and serve liquid refreshments so the plan is not to stop. However we have option of stopping in Ashbury and if necessary taking a shortcut to be back in time for the first Pizzas out of the oven.

As always Helmets are recommended. When ever you go out on your bike you should take a pump, spare inner tube, puncture repair kit, tyre levers all in a wee bag under your saddle. Taking your mobile phone with you is also a good idea and for the social bit at the end you'll cash or card.

We welcome first timers, no one will get left behind. For this ride you should feel comfortable that you can ride for about 2 hours at 11-12 mph. There are a few short climbs which may get your heart racing but they are over quite quickly.
