The Queen and The Monkey

An easy going 13 mile cycle from Queens Park to The Lower Barn in Rivington. Ideal for those wanting to increase distance without the hills! It is mainly off road or quiet roads with only one major road to negotiate which has cycle lanes.

A flat easy going scenic ride from Queens Park to Go Ape in Rivington via Middlebrook. Ride Leaders Leslie Doxey and Val Bourne. Suitable for hybrids and road bikes.

Mainly traffic free but a short distance on a busy main road with cycle lanes and a country lane.

We are planning a coffee stop at the Lower Barn. Toilet facilities are available at Lower Barn. There are toilets at Queens Park Cafe.

Helmets are compulsory. Please have a spare inner tube, pump, lock and bike levers and PPE, mask, hand gel/wipes. Please bring pennies for the coffee stop or bring your own. First aid consumables will be provided by the leader but you must self medicate if it safe to do so. This ride is for members of Horwich Ride Social.
