It’s time for cake :-)
Maintain your hard earned fitness over the winter and stay motivated with our series of weekend cafe rides.
This month we’re going to the Garth Owen Garden Centre at Four Marks.
Our undulating circular 42 mile route includes a few longer hills and some beautiful country lanes. We'll leave Winchfield passing through Cookham Village and Crondall to Bentley. We’ll then head towards Upper Farringdon passing through BInstead and Wyck before climbing past Pie Farm to the Tree House cafe at the Garden Centre.
After our well earned cafe stop we’ll cross the A31 where the road undulates through Medstead and Bentworth and after passing the gold pillar box we’ll take a left turn to Bradley before tackling the climb to the Herriard Crossroads. Our reward is the wonderful descent through Upton Grey and Odiham to Winchfield.
We will meet on the corner of Pale Lane outside the Barley Mow Pub at 9.20 so we are ready to set off promptly at 9.30. We are aiming to be back by 13.30 (3.5 hours cycling / 13mph average).
The wearing of a helmet is mandatory for this ride. Also, as we'll be riding for up to 2 hours before our cafe stop please bring enough food and drink to last you for the ride. Also, bring a spare inner tube and pump.
NOTE: This ride is for the more experienced rider who is capable of tackling some hills and sustaining an average speed of around 13mph over the distance.
