'This Girl Can ' Parkland Potter

Come a join me on a very easy , mostly flat ride around the gravel trails of Lydiard Park . We will meet at the Forest Cafe next to the main car park and then head out around the park perimeter , first passing the Ice House and on towards a woodland trail that leads us out to the open Parkland overlooking Lydiard Millicent village . As we reach the furthest part of the ride , the views of Swindon in one direction and the Downs in the other are particularly lovely . We cycle on to the parks drive where a small section of tarmac takes us back to the trails . We will ride past the beautiful walled garden , where a peak through the impressive gates is always worth while and on to a woodland loop with glimpses of Lydiard House through the trees . The final return section takes us past the lake and over a bridge where the House can be seen in all its glory . Finally we return to the cafe for a coffee stop and cake .

A Beginners route of 3.5 miles . Ideal for those new to cycling , worried about doing longer distances or those who don't like riding on roads

This ride is on the trails of Lydiard Park and is virtually traffic free apart from a very small section of the park's entrance drive

There will be a cafe stop at the end of the ride and any recovery stops that riders require on route

Please note there is a car park charge in Lydiard Park of £2.10 for 2 hours and £4.40 all day . Please bring money for the cafe at the end of the ride but feel free to bring your own drink for the ride . Helmets preferred for the ride duration
