Starting point

We will meet at the entrance to Stock Lane Car Park

Join us for a 12 mile ride from Grasmere. We will be riding on a mixture of road and cycle tracks which include the new cycle track beside Grasmere and Rydal Water. We will cycle from Grasmere to Ambleside before heading to Skelwith Bridge. From here we will cycle to Elterwater and then Chapel Stile before returning to Grasmere by heading over Red Bank. Due to the nature of the off road tracks this ride is only suitable for mountain bikes or hybrids with off road tyres. On this ride we will pass the three lakes of Grasmere, Rydal Water and Elterwater and will have stunning views of many Lakeland peaks including the Langdale Pikes. At the end of the ride we will find a tearoom in Grasmere for a well earned drink and cake.
We will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind. The aim of the ride is to have a fun sociable ride in the company of other women, build up confidence in our riding in a supportive group environment, as well ask questions about bikes and riding, and make links with others.
Remember to wear clothes that are comfortable to cycle in and suitable for the weather conditions. It is a good idea to bring a spare inner tube, a waterproof jacket, a snack and a bottle of water. We always recommend that you wear a cycle helmet.
