This is a circular route of 13 miles on mainly quiet, country roads however there is just under a mile going out & again coming back along the A57. It is ideal for those who want to build their confidence on a bike and meet up with others. We will go out through Thorney & Wigsley to Harby where we can call in at the Bottle & Glass for refreshments & toast Queen Eleanor, the wife of Henry I, who died here. From here we go towards Broadholme before returning to Newton via Thorney. The route is mainly flat with just a couple of railway bridges to provide additional challenge whether you decide to walk or ride up them. The pace will be 8 - 10 mph but no one will be left behind.
Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time to allow for a bike check & remember to bring money for refreshments, a drink, a spare inner tube, tyre levers and pump. Your bike needs to be in a roadworthy condition and helmets are strongly recommended. Let the ride leader know if you have any medical conditions they should be aware of.
