Heading south past the Wash-Dyke and community orchard, the scout headquarters and playing fields The old WW2 airfield now hosts an industrial estate, and one of the largest (33mega watt) solar farms. Turning East on the outskirts of Burton-on-the-Wolds along the ridge and before Six hills, we turn back down the appropriately named Narrow Lane down the valley of the river Mantle with spectacular views over Wymeswold then on to brook Street where the Windmill Inn overlooks the site of the old manor house archeology still evident in the Hall Field.
