Starting point

Greater Manchester
M14 6LA

This route leaves Platt Fields Park and heads onto the Fallowfield Loop which takes us down through Chorlton to Jacksons Boat where we cross the Mersey. We follow the river upstream towards Kenworthy Woods heading through Northenden and then to Didsbury and our short refreshment break at Fletcher Moss Gardens. Suitably refreshed we follow the Metro, then its a quiet road, shared path back to the Loop which we follow back to Platt Fields.

Route rating

This is nice gentle tour of South Manchester on a disused railway railway track, river banks, shared paths and quiet roads.

The route is mainly on hard tracks with a short section of gravel along the river.

We will be having a refreshment break at Fletcher Moss Gardens, a lock and money are advisable.

Please ensure you have a spare inner, tyre levers and a pump. I recommend the wearing of a helmet

We never leave anyone behind
