Watford Cycle Hub: Mother's Day, Cafe@Lock 81 Loop

A gentle, easy & totally traffic free route, which is a safe & exciting adventure for children & grown ups alike (!) - though be prepared for mud at this time of year - so mountain bikes are recommended. We will ride along the Ebury Way and cross onto the canal towpath by the Cafe@Lock 81 (Batchworth Lock - Rickmansworth) after 3 miles. Here we can either stop for cuppa and a cake if you don't mind being outdoors in early Spring (!) or just a quick loo break if needed, before returning to Watford Cycle Hub via the canal towpath and Ebury Way for tea and Mother's Day Treats! :) We will simply ask for a kind donation from you to cover our costs and will not have set prices for elevenses; we're a Not-For-Profit, Social Enterprise after all! :)

Families are warmly welcome - bring your mum for a gentle ride on Mother's Day! :) This ride is also suitable anyone who wants an easy Sunday morning social ride. :)

Your bike should be in good working order for the ride. If in doubt, bring it along to us in the days before to check & fix it for you. :) Please check your tyres are pumped to the correct pressure & brakes are working the day before the ride. You can use our track pump or we can pump your tyres to the correct pressure on the day if you arrive at 9:45am.

Please bring a spare inner tube. Changing the inner tube is faster than fixing a puncture with a puncture repair kit. If you get a puncture on the ride - we will help you fix it! :) Watford Cycle Hub sell refurbished inner tubes for £1 (no patches); 50p (patched). New inner tubes are £4-6 - So you can pick up a spare 'inner' pre-ride if need be...

Please also bring money for tea and cake. :)
