Taking full advantage of the clocks going forward this is a day ride and a chance for mere mortals to take on a 50 mile hilly route in a relaxed, supportive culture. : ) The route is designed to take in all the 'musts' of the Ashridge National Park: from climbing up the hill from Berkhamsted Castle to Ashridge House, to al fresco refreshments at Brownlows, to descending the Ivinghoe Beacon, before climbing back over and down into Aldbury to then climb Tom's Hill to descend into Northchurch & perhaps see the Ashridge deer on the way! : ) This route has nearly 1000m of climbing in total so is a truly Challenging Plus Route. If you've cycled 30 miles before over a hilly route, and want to ride further and climb higher - this one's for you, and we'll support you all the way. : )
