Starting from Watford Cycle Hub, enjoy a lovely Sunday morning ride along tranquil, idyllic country lanes, including a section called "Under the Heavens" by locals. The route takes us through attractive farm land and across two village greens. There are a number of rolling hills, but the scenery is worth the effort! :)
This is a Steady Plus Route, ie. the hills are 'rolling' but there are no whoppers! There'll be a couple of slightly busier sections on the Sarratt Road. This will be a 'Leisurely Paced' ride averaging around 10-11 miles mph over the route. We hope to make it a relaxed & enjoyable ride for everyone, hopefully in glorious Autumnal sunshine! :)
Ian Curran is Ride Leading, with Katherine Deaney as the supportive, reassuring Tail-End-Charlie at the back. :)
Please bring two spare inner tubes in case of a puncture - as changing an inner tube is faster than getting out the rubber glue. The Ride Leaders can help if anyone in the group has a puncture on the day. Watford Cycle Hub sell inner tubes from £4 new, or second hand ones for 50p patched, £1 with no patches, should you need to purchase one. Please check your bike is in good working order before the ride - especially that your brakes are working & your tyres are pumped. You can also come along early before the ride to use our track pump, or we can help you get your tyres to the correct pressure pre-ride. :)
There will also be a cafe/pub stop, so bring money if you'd like to buy refreshments.
We look forward to riding with you. :)
