Watford Cycle Hub: Meriden Meander Through the Woods

This varied route proves just how quickly you can get away from tower blocks & the bustle of major access routes! Within a matter of minutes you'll be riding along quiet country lanes, past cottages, down tracks, through wooded areas, touching the edge of a golf course and discovering quiet country hostelries!

This is a lovely route for anyone of any age who loves getting off the beaten track away 'from it all' to discover pastures new...It's also a perfect mini-adventure for children. :)

Your bike should be in good working order. Please check your tyres are pumped & your brakes are working the day before.

If you're running late on the day, please call Watford Cycle Hub on: 01923 223994 - they will then relay a message to the Ride Leader. We may be able to wait for you - if we know you're on your way! :)

Please bring a spare inner tube. Changing the inner tube is faster than fixing a puncture with a puncture repair kit. If you get a puncture on the ride - we will help you fix it! :) Watford Cycle Hub sell second hand inner tubes for £1 (no patches); 50p (patched). New inner tubes are £4-6. There's a couple of possible cafe options after the ride, though we understand if you have to make tracks...Please bring money for the cafe if you want to buy a drink or have a cooked breakfast or early lunch post ride. :)
