A Steady ride, paced to average 8 mph over the gently undulating route via cycle paths and quiet country lanes.

There is one, short muddy section on Rousebarn Lane, on which road bike users may want to dismount and walk - unless you're into cyclo-cross of course! ;)

This will be a leisurely, social ride to join the photo shoot organised by Spokes.
You will need to be able to use your gears proficiently and have the necessary fitness to complete the 16 mile loop, taking on a few hill challenges en route.

Please bring:
- Two spare inner tubes, as in the event of getting a puncture, changing a tube is faster than fixing a puncture.

National Bike Week has arrived and Spokes celebratory Gathering is this Saturday 11 June. They are hoping for 100 + Cyclists from various local groups to meet up on Chipperfield Common from 12.30 p.m. to about 2.30 p.m. with a mass photo call at 1.30 p.m. The weather forecast is favourable.
The catering establishments on the Common have been forewarned but, if you are able, bringing your own refreshment will enable you to avoid the queues and have more time to socialise with other Cyclists.

Watford Cycle Hub can sell you inner tubes if you turn up 15 minutes before the ride.

- Appropriate clothing for conditions on the day
- A drink and snack(s)
- Debit Card (for the cafe)
- Mobile phone - in case you need to call a friend or a taxi for a lift home. This also allows you potentially to just ride one-way, if more enjoyable for you...

Cycle paths and quiet country lanes

We'll stop at Chipperfield Common to buy refreshments from / have a comfort break at one of the local cafes or pub. The will also be a group photo at 1.30 organised by Spokes

The wearing of helmets is recommended and please bring money for refreshments if you're not packing a picnic!

We never leave anyone behind
