Watford Cycle Hub: To the Cake Shack, Chipperfield

A 'Steady Plus' ride, so paced to average 8 -10 mph over the gently undulating route via cycle paths and quiet country lanes.

There is one, short muddy section on Rousebarn Lane, on which road bike users may want to dismount and walk - unless you're into cyclo-cross of course! ;)

This will be a leisurely, social ride, without pace pressure, though you will need to be able to use your gears proficiently and have the necessary fitness to complete the 16 mile loop, taking on a few hill challenges en route.

If this is your first group ride and you feel this ride maybe an overstretch, try our 'Steady', 'Ebury and Aquadrome' ride instead; you can then move on to this route when you are ready. :)

Please bring:
- Two spare inner tubes, as in the event of getting a puncture, changing a tube is faster than fixing a puncture.

Watford Cycle Hub can sell you inner tubes if you turn up 15 minutes before the ride.

- Appropriate clothing for conditions on the day
- A drink and snack(s)
- Debit Card (for the cafe)
- Mobile phone - in case you need to call a friend or a taxi for a lift home. This also allows you potentially to just ride one-way, if more enjoyable for you...
