Our monthly Second Sunday ‘faster’ paced ride is pitched for leisure riders who need a bit more…With the aim of hitting a 12+ mph average over our ‘Challenging Plus’ hilly routes, this is faster than a typical ‘leisure ride’, but slower than entry ‘club level’.

This route has just over 600 metres of climbing in total and combines a mix of pretty country lanes with some faster road sections. There will also be a good range of hill climbs to challenge you – including Dodds Lane and a wonderfully enjoyable descent down Gaddesden Lane into Redbourn!

At Redbourn we’ll stop at ‘The Hub – Coffee Bar and Cyclists Refuge’ for you to refuel before taking a fast section of road into St. Albans, then navigating the country lanes that take us back through to Bedmond to head back to Watford.

Ian Curran & Katherine Deaney are your Ride Leaders for this relatively faster paced jaunt.

Please bring two spare inner tubes and money for coffee at The Hub, Redbourn.

This is a road bikes only ride but be assured if you want to do similar distances but a little slower, of pace average c. 10-11 mph, we will be putting on these rides too - so follow us on Facebook or check our website for upcoming rides...
