Starting point

A lovely circular ride out from Cassiobury Park along some of the prettiest country lanes on the verge of the Chilterns. Within just a couple of miles you will be in beautiful countryside taking in views of local villages. Perfect for a challenge and a blast of fresh air! Oh & there's the 'Ley Hill Big Dipper': a 13% descent followed immediately by a climb of similar gradient! :) and a stop off at Blackwells cafe in Chipperfield.
This is a Challenging Category Route - there's rolling hills & we will pace it to average 13+ mph over the route - so this ride is only for riders who can comfortably hit this pace & are looking for a faster paced leisure ride, which helps move towards bridging the gap towards club level.

If you're driving across to then ride the Cassiobury Park car park off Gade Avenue is free for up to 2 hours, you will find that there is parking on the streets near the park that is free on Sundays. You can then ride to the meeting point for the start of the ride at The Cha Cafe.

Please bring two spare inner tubes as this makes it easier to fix punctures if they happen, and make sure your bike is in good working order before the ride. Please wear clothing to suit the weather conditions, gloves are recommended.
If you don't have a spare inner tubes, Watford Cycle Hub sell them for £4 brand new.

If your bike might need a little TLC or hasn't been ridden for a while, you can always book it in for a service at Watford or Leavesden with a free assessment of the works that are needed.
