Each week we will take a different route around the local area with a distance of approx 18-20 miles. The routes will be focused on the villages around here and mostly on country lanes, although some busier roads are inevitable. The intention is to use our cycling as a way of 'getting back to normal', to re connect, socialise, and enjoy the lovely countryside as Spring gets under way. We will make sure the group stays together, endeavour to always find a coffee stop and generally enjoy once again having the opportunity to explore our local area on 2 wheels.
Mostly country lanes with some busier roads. Some routes will have short off road sections but they will always be passable with road bikes.
We will always try and stop for coffee; either takeaway or hopefully sit down.
I expect participants to take responsibility for ensuring they are well and not coming on the ride if they display signs of COVID-19. British Cycling are keen for group cycling to continue in a socially distanced way. You can wear a mask if you feel it is appropriate. I would prefer you to wear a cycling helmet. Please bring two spare inner tubes, a bike pump, a drink of water and card/money for our stop (please note: many places take card payment only), hand sanitiser and a face covering. Please note that we cannot share tools/ equipment. Please have a good check over your bikes to make sure they are road worthy especially if you have not been out during the recent lockdown. Below is a handy video for completing the 'M Check' before a ride. https://www.sustrans.org.uk/our-blog/get-active/2019/everyday-walking-and-cycling/the-m-check-for-your-bike-in-11-steps
