This is a new ride for our group.
Starting from the service road by Holdi restaurant on the Rainford Bypass.
The ride then utilises the cycle / walking route on the old railway through Rainford village. Take a deep breath, we then head up Crank hill, swing down then up the Beacon and down then up Ashurst Beacon and down then we travel through Newburgh, Latham, Burscough and a small repast at Merlins Bakery.
Setting off again we have a nice flat ride to Halsall where we embark on Clieve's hill through to the A59 and Aughton. We vist Town Green and then Bowkers Green before desending back to the start point.
We'll ride at a steady pace of 10 - 12 mph on this ride and we'll keep our pace at a level so that we can all stay together.
Remember, this is not a race, but a leisurely ride at a pace to suit the slowest in the group!
Please check your bike over the night before the ride, tyres inflated, all bolts tight, lubricated. Clothing, helmet & lights checked and ready. Please ensure you have a pump and a couple of spare tubes in case of punctures and a good secure lock.
It would be great to have some new & some familiar faces on this ride, you're all welcome & I look forward to riding with you.
Please arrive at least 15 mins before the ride start time, (9.45) So that we are able to get away at the stated start time
