This is the perfect ride if you have never ridden with us before or have been off the bike for a while or just want a nice easy ride to give you the chance to start building up the distance you can ride and the hills you can climb. We'll set off from the begining of Loxley Road just past the trafic lights. There is a steady climb up Loxley Road, past the Nag's Head and to the right of Damflask Reservoir, up a hill and down the northern side to Low Bradfield. Here there is the option to stop at the café for coffee and cake or we can do a 2nd lap of the Dam if we want to and then go to the Flask End Cafe. I lead the ride from the back of the group so no one needs to worry about being last.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS
We recommend that all participants wear a helmet. Please make sure you wear appropriate clothing for the weather.
As usual we do expect you to have ensured your bike is roadworthy and that you have carried out basic pre-ride checks; we recommend that you also carry at least one spare inner tube, a pump (CO2 inflators are also highly recommended). If you have a mechanical problem we will do our best to assist you and/or lend you an inner tube or repair kit if we can, but it is always best to be self-reliant. Don’t forget to bring money for refreshments and a mobile phone.
This is a purely social group of like-minded people sharing a love of cycling, it is not a formal organisation nor does it have any form of legal structure. We do not profess to be trained ride leaders but do have experience of doing so. You are free to choose to ride with us but in doing so please note that you do so in acceptance that this is entirely at your own risk. We cannot accept responsibility for any loss or injury suffered as a result of your participation. Please also read the terms and conditions on the website.
