Starting point

South Yorkshire
S6 4TE

This 46 mile ride takes in some of the breathtaking scenery and stunning views of the Peak District. The ride sets off from Malin Bridge and heads out to Low Bradfield and the first of the climbs, which will take us up Blindside to Strines Moor. We then drop down to Ladybower and continue to Hope where we turn left on to a quiet lane and then up a fairly steep climb into the hills above Castleton. The route then takes us along undulating roads to Tideswell where we’ll have a coffee/cake break before continuing through stunning country lanes that take us to the short but steep climb up to Monsal Head. From there we continue through Hassop and up the long steady climb of Nether Padley and onwards to Ringinglow and Lodge Moor before dropping down into Rivelin Valley and back to the start point.
Although this ride has some challenging climbs, we'll take our time and stop for breathers if we need to. As ever on Wheel Do It! rides, no-one will get left behind. The ride is best done on a road bike or a hybrid with road tyres (it would be very hard work on a mountain bike).
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS
We recommend that all participants wear a helmet. Please make sure you wear appropriate clothing for the weather.
As usual we do expect you to have ensured your bike is roadworthy and that you have carried out basic pre-ride checks; we recommend that you also carry at least one spare inner tube, a pump (CO2 inflators are also highly recommended). If you have a mechanical problem we will do our best to assist you and/or lend you an inner tube or repair kit if we can, but it is always best to be self-reliant. Don’t forget to bring money for refreshments and a mobile phone.
