Starting point

South Yorkshire
S6 4TE

This ride has some challenging climbing and some lovely views to reward you for the effort. We'll set off from the beginning of Loxley Road and climb steadily up past the Admiral Rodney, turn left to Low Bradfield and then up the climb of Blindside Lane with some great views over the reservoirs. We then turn left onto Sugworth Road and then right onto the A57 to drop down to Ladybower. We'll then continue past the the Yorkshire Bridge and turn right onto a lovely little lane that winds its way towards Hope, where we'll stop for coffee and cake. We'll then head towards Hathersage and take a left onto Jaggers Lane and then another left onto Coggers Lane and onwards up the long climb to Stannage Edge and Upper Burbage. Continuing along Ringinglow Road takes us to the Norfolk Arms where we turn left and head to Lodge Moor before dropping steeply down to Rivelin Valley Road. We'll then use a couple of back lanes to bring us to Stannington Road and back to the start point on Loxley Road. As on any of our rides, we'll take our time and there is no pressure to go faster than you want to. We never leave anyone behind!

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS
Please do not attend if you have COVID symptoms (new, persistent cough; fever; loss of sense of smell or taste) or if any of your household has symptoms or is isolating. Maintain social distance throughout the ride, including at the start/finish and the café stop. Bring a facemask for use at the café stop. Another ride will be leaving at the same time, so please join the group for this ride and maintain separation from the other group.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS
We recommend that all participants wear a helmet. Please make sure you wear appropriate clothing for the weather. As usual we do expect you to have ensured your bike is roadworthy and that you have carried out basic pre-ride checks; we recommend that you also carry at least one spare inner tube, a pump (CO2 inflators are also highly recommended). It is also a good idea to carry a spare chain link that matches your bike’s chain (e.g. 9, 10 or 11 speed). If you have a mechanical problem we will do our best to assist you and/or lend you an inner tube or repair kit if we can, but it is always best to be self-reliant. Don’t forget to bring money for refreshments and a mobile phone.
