Wheel Do It! - Stannage Edge

For our last Saturday ride before Christmas, here is another chance to enjoy the scenic beauty of Stannage Edge. We'll set off from Flask End café (join us at 9:30 if you want a coffee first) and then climb up Blindside Lane and along Sugworth Road. On reaching the A57 we'll descend to Ladybower and turn left at the lights. After passing the Yorkshire Bridge, a long and occasionally steep climb takes us up towards Stannage Edge with some stunning views along the way. After passing along the foot of Stannage Edge we'll continue up to Ringinglow and then to Lodge Moor, before dropping steeply down to Rivelin Valley and returning to the start.
Although this route has some long and occasionally steep climbs, we'll take our time and stop for breathers if needed. No-one will get left behind!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS
We recommend that all participants wear a helmet. Please make sure you wear appropriate clothing for the weather.
As usual we do expect you to have ensured your bike is roadworthy and that you have carried out basic pre-ride checks; we recommend that you also carry at least one spare inner tube, a pump (CO2 inflators are also highly recommended). It is also a good idea to carry a spare chain link that matches your bike’s chain (e.g. 9, 10 or 11 speed). If you have a mechanical problem we will do our best to assist you and/or lend you an inner tube or repair kit if we can, but it is always best to be self-reliant. Don’t forget to bring money for refreshments and a mobile phone.
