Now that Betty-Ann's group have completed a series of four rides, building up to an anticlockwise trip around Strines, and Paul's group have done their own series out into the Peaks, it is time to do a ride together. We'll all set off from the usual spot at the start of Loxley Road and head up past the Admiral Rodney and Nags Head. When we reach Damflask, we'll turn left and head to Low Bradfield. From there we'll head up the long steady climb of Blindside - if you've done Betty-Ann's rides up through High Bradfield you'll have no trouble with this route. Near the top of Blindside we have some stunning views of Dale Dyke and Strines reservoirs before we turn right and head along Sugworth Road. A right turn takes us along Mortimer Road past the Strines Inn and down a steep descent. There is then another moderate climb before we stop at a junction. Here there is a choice - those who want a shorter route down to Low Bradfield can turn right here with Betty-Ann and head to the Flask End for refreshments. If you are looking for a slightly longer ride, Paul's group will continue for a few more miles, down another steep descent and up another moderate climb before turning right and heading to the Flask End (this is the reverse of the ride Betty-Ann's group did last week - it is easier in this direction, so if you did it last week you can do it this way!). We'll all meet up at the Flask End for coffee and cake. Anyone who would like to add on a little bit extra can then join Paul for a few more miles and a couple more climbs, while everyone else takes the relatively flat route back to the start.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS
We recommend that all participants wear a helmet. Please make sure you wear appropriate clothing for the weather. As usual we do expect you to have ensured your bike is roadworthy and that you have carried out basic pre-ride checks; we recommend that you also carry at least one spare inner tube, a pump (CO2 inflators are also highly recommended). It is also a good idea to carry a spare chain link that matches your bike’s chain (e.g. 9, 10 or 11 speed). If you have a mechanical problem we will do our best to assist you and/or lend you an inner tube or repair kit if we can, but it is always best to be self-reliant. Don’t forget to bring money for refreshments and a mobile phone.
