Starting point

South Yorkshire
S6 4TE

This ride has some moderately challenging climbs but has some lovely views to reward you for the effort. We'll set off from the beginning of Loxley Road and take an immediate right turn onto Wisewood Lane and climb steadily up to Worral where we turn left onto Kirk Edge. We'll continue along Kirk Edge, with lovely views over Loxley Valley and then find out way, via a couple of turns, onto Onesmoor Bottom. We continue along this road until we reach the crest of a hill before dropping down some lovely twisty lanes that eventually bring us down to Wigtwizzle. From there there is a steep climb up to Mortimer Road where we turn left and cross Strines Moor, with a couple more ups and downs before we turn left onto Sugworth Road. We'll continue through Ughill back to Low Bradfield for coffee stop outside the Flask End cafe before returning via Loxley Road to the start. As on any of our rides, we'll take our time and there is no pressure to go faster than you want to. We never leave anyone behind!

This ride is limited to a maximum of six participants. Please do not attend if you have COVID symptoms (new, persistent cough; fever; loss of sense of smell or taste) or if any of your household has symptoms or is isolating. Maintain social distance throughout the ride, including at the start/finish and the café stop. Bring a facemask for use at the café stop. Another ride will be leaving at the same time, so please join the group for this ride and maintain separation from the other group.

We recommend that all participants wear a helmet. Please make sure you wear appropriate clothing for the weather. As usual we do expect you to have ensured your bike is roadworthy and that you have carried out basic pre-ride checks; we recommend that you also carry at least one spare inner tube, a pump (CO2 inflators are also highly recommended). It is also a good idea to carry a spare chain link that matches your bike’s chain (e.g. 9, 10 or 11 speed). If you have a mechanical problem we will do our best to assist you and/or lend you an inner tube or repair kit if we can, but it is always best to be self-reliant. Don’t forget to bring money for refreshments and a mobile phone.
This is a purely social group of like-minded people sharing a love of cycling, it is not a formal organisation nor does it have any form of legal structure. We do not profess to be trained ride leaders but do have experience of doing so. You are free to choose to ride with us but in doing so please note that you do so in acceptance that this is entirely at your own risk. We cannot accept responsibility for any loss or injury suffered as a result of your participation. Please also read the terms and conditions on the website.
