A bright and breezy route around the popular Lochgoin trail at the Whitelee Windfarm. Enjoy breathtaking views and an impressive landscape with the added bonus of no traffic! Whitelee is a friendly location with good facilities. We will start from the visitors centre, riding from there to the Lochgoin trail, looping around the loch before completing our circuit back at the visitors centre.

The Lochgoin reservoir which the route encircles is spectacular in most weathers and there are often waterfowl and waders to be spotted. Views out to Arran and Aisla Craig are possible in good weather making this a pleasurable route to meander around.

A traffic-free treat for Saturday morning! Get the weekend rolling with this 8.5 mile ride of the Lochgoin Loop at Whitelee Windfarm. We'll start at the visitors centre carpark, with coffee and cake in the cafe when we finish. The Lochgoin reservoir which the route encircles is spectacular in most weathers and there are often waterfowl and waders to be spotted. Views out to Arran and Aisla Craig are possible in good weather making this a pleasurable route to meander around.

This is a traffic-free route, on wide tracks through the windfarm. We will be keeping to the main Lochgoin route, so the trail surfaces are good for cycling and suitable for Hybrid bikes, Mountain bikes and Gravel bikes. There is one small section on tarmac, the rest is on trails.

Plenty of opportunity to pause and take pictures, chat and catch our breath. With a great café stop at the end where we can chat and enjoy some treats.

Money for cafe stop, and spare tube/puncture repair kit and pump. Helmets to be worn at all times when on the bike, please bring a jacket which is waterproof along with sun protection, you never know when the sunshine or showers will make an appearance and unsurprisingly, this can be a breezy route!

First-timers welcome!
