Winster via the Gated Road

From Kendal we take the quiet back road to Staveley before using the cycle path to Ings. We will then cycle along a gated road before heading to Winster. On our return we will visit Bowland Bridge, cycle through the woods to Witherslack, then cycle through several picturesque villages to Kendal.

A generally steady undulating, circular ride with some lovely countryside to enjoy along the way. We will always ride at a pace to suit everyone.

Most of the route is on narrow lanes and quiet country roads, with several short hills (but not too steep) some traffic and two short off-road sections. It is fine to walk up any hills as required.

There will be opportunities along the way to stop to enjoy the views and have a rest. We can stop for refreshments at Winster.

Helmets, a bike lock, a basic tool kit and a spare inner tube are advisable. Please bring a drinks bottle, snacks and money if you wish to buy refreshments. Please remember to layer with clothes you are comfortable cycling in.
