Broompark Picnic Area

Once again we are grateful to Julia our botany expert for providing her expertise on spotting Winter flora on this short ride along the Deerness Valley Walkway. We will meet at Broompark picnic area and cycle along to Waterhouses and up the incline to Stanley Crook. We will then turn left along the road and take the unclassified road down towards Brancepeth where we will stop in for lunch at the Brancepeth Castle Tea Rooms. From there we will follow the lines back to Durham.
Please bring along your note books, appropriate clothing for the weather and some change for buying refreshments at the Tea Shop. Spare inner tubes, thick gloves and socks and plenty of buffs are also recommended. This could be one of your 4 Breeze winter warmer rides to win a pair of Breeze arm warmers as well :)
