Starting point

L20 7AE

Bootle town hall. Several hills, but the best ones are going down. Chance to go fast. Some busy roads but many country lanes too

Start outside Bootle town hall on corner with millers bridge. Head towards east laancs a580 and continue about 15km. Turn off at rainford bypass for a shorter Hillier ride or contue a few more miles to Carr mill. Continue through billinge and Wigan through town centre. Follow Wigan lane past hospital and haigh hall, eventually arriving at parbold. Nice fast descent down parbold. Follow route to a59 and head towards Liverpool, passing ormskirk and Maghull. Pass through switch island heading towards Crosby and take a left at the Freeport flyover. Approx 1.5 km back to starting point. For convenience, will also wait at bus stop opposite showcase cinema on the east lancs heading east at about 11.10 11.15 for a few mins. I know this route quite well. A few places to stop if needs be. Ride will be on busy roads so you must feel confident, especially switch island. Adults only, road bikes and preferably a helmet. Bring your own repair kit. Should take between 3 and 4 hours based on breaks and abilities.
