WHAT'S ON AT HSBC UK LET'S RIDE COVENTRY


HSBC UK Let's Ride Coventry is more than just a great bike ride. There's plenty to do for all the family (even those not riding!). Here's a sample of what's on offer on Sunday 5 August...

Broadgate Festival Zone

  • Get a free bike service from the Shimano Tech Mechanics
  • Get your commemorative bib personalised with your name or club
  • Join the Wattbike Challenge and get yourself on the leaderboard
  • Find out more about how to get involved in British Cycling’s HSBC UK Guided rides, women only HSBC UK Breeze rides and our Let’s Ride Pop Up event
  • We’ll have some out-of-the normal bikes for you to try
  • Stop off at our café or one of the local outlets
  • Make the short walk to Little Park Street by Council House Square for the start gantry

Millennium Place Festival Zone

  • Come and watch Danny Butler’s Extreme Mountain Bike Stunt Show - performing throughout the day
  • Have a go on a smoothie bike
  • Test your skills in British Cycling’s Go Ride Coaching and Skills Zone
  • Pedal your own smoothie or make your own spin art.
  • Take advantage of event day specials at Coventry Transport Museum café
  • Want some local info? Check out stalls from local groups including Sky Blues in the Community, Coventry Cycling Club
  • Get you bike securely marked by Safer Travel Police
  • Ever tried a tandem? Local group Coventry VISTA (Visually Impaired and Sighted Tandem Association) will be there – give it a go!

Food Festival Zone

  • Take a break and enjoy Street Food and Drink from Digbeth Dining Club in University Square by the Cathedral.

Along the route

  • Enjoy music from Coventry Festival Band
  • New for this year… enjoy a one-off experience to cycle through the Cathedral Ruins!
  • Watch out for our eZo Cycle mechanic who’ll be cycling around the ring road in case you need a hand!
  • Our beatbox cycles will be out on route keeping you pedalling
  • Ever ridden a Penny Farthing – watch out for one on the route!
  • Test your speed with the Sir Chris Hoy Sprint Zone Challenge
  • Not ready for 6km? Follow the marshals and signs near the start for a shorter 1km route
  • Want to try an adapted bike? Join Wheels for All by the Council House and start line for a demo.
  • Keep an eye out for our friendly mascots Mo and Zoe, out and about along the route

Bike hire

Don't have a bike? No problem! Bikes for children and adults can be hired on the day in Broadgate. Prices start from £5 for child bikes and £6 for adult bikes per hour. Family Cargo Bikes that seat one adult and can carry two children under 7 in the front can be hired from £12.50/hour from the Festival Zone. Bike hire is open from 10am – 3pm and operates on a first come, first served basis. To hire a bike you will need to bring a credit card, driving licence or passport AND proof of current address. 

Adapted bikes for people with disabilities are available from Wheels for All on Earl Street by the Council House near the start.
