Starting point

B60 2EA

St Godwalds Church Car Park (near Bromsrove Station)

Follow SUSTRANS route 5 through Bromsgrove towards Catshill, a gentle ride with an opportunity to negotiate a short section of town traffic with guidance.   This gentle ride is perfect for beginners and anyone who’s not been on a bike for a while. We really welcome newcomers to our rides; we will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind. Full distance 9.6 miles, some hills, but not bad; Shorter version approx 7 miles. Meet at St. Godwalds church hall (on SUSTRANS route 5) and make our way via Fordhouse Rd and Windsor St to the top of Bromsgrove High Street. Through Sidemoor continue on the no.5 SUSTRANS cycle route to Perryfields and onto Stourbridge Road. Turning off at Rocky Lane, we will follow the lanes back into Bromsgrove. At Housmans clock tower there is a choice, we can cut it short if weather is bad, time short or too tired and sweep down past Bumble Hole to cross the motorway and come back via Sidemoor and Sanders Park OR Do the whole route via Bungay Lake and Timberhonger Lanes to Sanders Park, then back along Charford Rd to Aston Fields. It would be good to bring a drink and banana or other snack; wear a helmet if possible and if you’ve got a hi-vis vest it would be good though I’ve got a couple to lend. Look forward to seeing you there!
