Allwheeley Ride

Come and join us for a lovely ride around Meanwood. The ride starts at the Waitrose's car park with a quick bike check and warm up. The route will take us via Alwoodley Cycle Route and Meanwood Park and is mainly traffic free; the road sections we’ll use are quiet. There is one steep hill, it’s not a problem to get off and walk but please have a go and treat it as a challenge if you’d like. The rest of the route is fairly flat or downhill.  This is very gentle ride at a slow pace so we can take in the scenery. The wide, quiet paths will give a lot of opportunities for chatting. We will ride at the speed of the slowest rider, with plenty of breaks. We will finish the ride where we started at Waitrose car park. The route is about 5 miles long, which should take about an hour to cycle. However please allow at least 20 minutes for the bike checks before the ride. Newcomers to Breeze rides are very welcome, don't worry if you don't know anyone, we're a friendly bunch.  Dress appropriately for the weather: in cool weather it's good to wear lots of thin layers, so you can add/remove them as needed; a rain jacket is a good idea too! Please bring a drink of water, some money and a bike lock (if you have one). Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.
