International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. Suffragettes campaigned for women's right to vote. The word 'Suffragette' is derived from the word "suffrage" meaning the right to vote. International Women's Day honours the work of the Suffragettes, celebrates women's success, and reminds of inequities still to be redressed. Why not join us for a Breeze ride to celebrate the success of women’s cycling! This is a pleasant ride along the water link way, from Cator Park to Ladywell Fields. We will be stopping at Ladywell for a Coffee before heading back, so please bring a bike lock and some money for the cafe. This is perfect for beginners of those that have not been out on a bike for a while; the route is almost traffic free. We really welcome newcomers to our rides; we will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind Please note that there are some width barriers at park entrances, so cargo bikes, trailers, and tricycles may need to be lifted over these, or find alternate routes at these points. It's a good idea to bring some water and you may also want to bring a snack.  Dress appropriately for the weather: in cool weather it's good to wear lots of thin layers, so you can add/remove them as needed; a rain jacket is a good idea too!  Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then. If you have any questions please contact me at breezenetworkbromley@gmail.com Look forward to seeing you there.
