Peak District Cycling Festival - Monsal Trail End to End

This ride is part of the Peak District Cycling Festival. There is a pay and display car park at the starting point, bike hire (http://www.hassopstation.co.uk/cycle-hire.htm) including electric bikes, toilets and a cafe. This is a completely traffic free ride on a flattish disused railway line through some stunning scenery. Perfect for beginners and those that haven’t been out on their bikes for a while! We really welcome newcomers to our rides; we will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind. We’ll pass through several lit tunnels and explore some stunning scenery so you might like to bring your camera! The ride is approximately 16 miles in total, and just short of 20 miles if we add on the section from Hassop Station to Coombs Road in Bakewell and back. As previously mentioned, there is a bike hire shop at the starting point with electric bikes available so this really is a ride open to all! The Monsal Trail is a multi-user trail, suitable for mountain and hybrid bikes. Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.  We will be stopping for a well deserved coffee and cake so please bring some money. Please dress appropriately for the weather and you’ll need to bring a drink, snack to keep you going, spare inner tube and puncture repair kit.
