Starting point

TS11 8EG

New Marske Methodist Church, Gurney Street

This is a lovely ride out over to Flatts Lane Country Park- a hidden gem of woodland escaped by many. Hmmm, nothing to do with the big hill to get up there - surely not! As always what goes up must come down, and what a beautiful setting to catch your breath after the winding climb from Normanby.

To return, we will follow one of the woodland tracks to get us to Ormesby and loop round back via on road and traffic free cycle paths, heading over to The Half Moon Inn at Lazenby for the rewarding refreshment (and a bite to eat if anyone wants to). Being Bank Holiday, it may get busy in here, so I will ring ahead and advise them of a few breezer’s are on their way. There is seating outside. Sunshine is on order!

Hope you can join us on the third bank holiday ride of the season. Please bring either money or refreshments to keep yourself hydrated. Bike wise, Hybrid tyres are best, due to some uneven woodland tracks, pace will be leisurely to brisk – taking it at your own pace & enjoyment. Approx 18 miles in total.

Look forward to seeing you there.

N.B. For those of you Middlesbrough side. Please get in touch if you would like to join us/meet us at Normanby – and you can share the pain / liberation of the climb up to Flatts Lane, and join us for a drink at The Half Moon Inn.
