RSPB Rainham Marshes, off New Tank Hill Road Purfleet

The new Sustrans route 136 along the Ingrebourne Valley in Havering is being formally opened on May 22nd at the new bridge in Hornchurch Country Park at 12:00. Two led rides will be leaving at 10:30 from each end to join the formal opening at 12:00. Afterwards you can do the return ride, continue to the other end, or just relax on what hopefully will be a great day. This is the south ride starting from RSPB Rainham Marshes at 10:30 on 22 May Ride can be ridden by any form of bike but off road tyres, not necessarily MTB tyres would be best. There is ample parking at the RSPB centre. The reserve is located off New Tank Hill Road (A1090) in Purfleet which is just off the A1306 between Rainham and Lakeside. This is accessible from the Aveley, Wennington and Purfleet junction off the A13 and J30/31 of the M25. Or you can catch the train to Purfleet and cycle there. The nearest railway station to this reserve is Purfleet. Purfleet train station is on the C2C line from Fenchurch Street. The reserve is a 5 minute ride from the station following the brown pedestrian signs along the riverside path. Turn right out of the station and then join the path at the Royal Pub. Follow the Riverside path and then cross the Mardyke Bridge to the Visitor Centre.
